Job Title: Machine Operator – Bubble Cast

Summary of Job

The Coex-6 Operator is responsible for keeping the extruder machine running at or above the set production standards, while at the same time maintaining a quality product and helping bag as needed. This operator is responsible to accurately fill out the required paperwork.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities



Set up and operate an the Coex-6 production line for various products.Perform hourly “weight” checks, “vacuum” tests, and “mic” checks.Responsible for putting “scrap” and “repro” back into the machine at the highest rate possible.Safely and efficiently produce product on assigned production area.Always wear Personal Protective Equipment as required.Operate Powered Industrial Vehicles to stage and move product.Read a tape measure to 1/32”.Do minor maintenance – clean air filters, TPM’s and PM’s.Support, demonstrate and promote Pregis’ core values: integrity, collaboration, customer focus and innovation.

  • Adheres to the highest standards of company safety programs, guidelines, rules, and regulations including all personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements

Housekeeping throughout assigned shift to ensure an orderly and safe environment.Physical and visual inspection of product is required to prevent non-conforming goods. Promptly reports all quality defects to the appropriate team members.Maintains appropriate level of production supplies/ materials as required, to ensure next shift operators incur minimal downtime.Meets or exceeds production rates, minimize waste levels and meets all customer requirements.Enters production reporting data into machine computer accurately.Separates scrap into appropriate film-type gaylord.Operates core cutting machine, vacuum lift, and pallet jack.Acquires knowledge/ skills of Set-up Technicians to better assist and troubleshoot when needed.Attends meetings and completes safety trainings as required.Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Physical Characteristics

  • Repetitive use of wrist, hands, and fingers.

Frequent standing, stooping, squatting, up to 75%.Frequent bending and some kneeling.Frequent use of shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, and ankles.Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling (up to 30-50 lbs.).Occasional bending and twisting.Occasional reaching.Occasional typing/keyboarding/preparing documents, voice- assisted as needed.

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 1 year manufacturing preferred
