Here's a summary of responsibilities:

This position directly supports the Colorado Springs Olympic Paralympic Training Center (OPTC) Operations team for all program-related functions. The Fellow will work directly with National Governing Bodies (NGBs) to coordinate sport camps and clinics at the OPTC. The Fellow will also assist with event planning at the OPTC and aid with short-term program logistics. Day-to-day interaction with resident athletes and OPTC guests, including the registration of all users of the OPTC and direct contact with other OPTC divisions (dining services, transportation, venues, etc.), will occur regularly as part of this position. The Operations Fellowship offers an opportunity to gain experience with logistics and event planning and is anticipated to be a six-month assignment.

Here's how you'll have an impact:

  • Support the Operations team with day-to-day program operations through the development and execution of OPTC-approved programs.
    • Assist with all aspects of roster and training schedule development, verifying paperwork and forms, and assisting program contact with any of their requests in planning training programs.
    • On average, independently coordinate at least two (2) programs each month of internship.
  • Run the Athlete Center Registration Desk. Register all OPTC guests, including verifying signatures on all forms via the electronic paperwork system and verifying participants' compliance with SafeSport, background checks, and OPTC paperwork. Issue ID badges to all guests residing in the athlete center. Give an informative orientation on policies and procedures for the CSOPTC and perform other related check-in procedures.
  • Work directly with the Operations team to streamline check-in procedures and paperwork during events and programs held on-site at the OPTC.
  • Assist in presenting at weekly review/preview programs meeting(s).
  • Attend weekly and bi-weekly team, department, and division meetings. Participate as a representative of the Operations team.
  • As requested, assist the Operations Manager and other team members with facility/dorm inspections, inventory, invoicing, and other matters.

Here are the skills and experience you'll need to be effective:

  • Enrolled in a bachelor's degree program at the junior or senior level or enrolled in a master's degree program or equivalent work experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Passion for sport and the Ideals of the Olympic & Paralympic Movement
  • Excellent communication and human relations skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced multidisciplinary team environment
