What you will do

As Vice President Sales - US, you will be part of Piab Group’s Lifting Automation division management team. You will be responsible for driving the company’s growth in the United States and Canada. You will develop strategic initiatives, identify new business opportunities, develop strategic partnerships, and oversee every aspect of the business, including sales, marketing, operations, and finance. Additionally, you will have P&L responsibility and ensure team performance, development, and succession planning, oversee operational performance and inventory control, and ensure all business operations adhere to compliance policies.


You will


Strategic Business Development (together with Sales Manager)

  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities/markets and potential challenges in the North America market.
  • Develop and implement strategies to expand the company’s market presence.
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships and alliances.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform strategic decisions.


Drive Sustainable Sales Growth in North America

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans aligned with corporate goals to drive sustainable growth in North America
  • Direct sales forecasting activities to ensure accurate predictions and set performance goals accordingly
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders to enhance customer loyalty and retention
  • Oversee sales team to ensure sales targets are met or exceeded


Leadership and Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing business management team.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Manage resource allocation and budgeting.
  • Ensure team performance, development, and succession planning.


Operational Efficiency and Inventory Control

  • Oversee operational performance to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in processes.
  • Implement best practices for inventory control to optimize stock levels and reduce costs.
  • Monitor supply chain operations to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products.


Market and Customer Focus

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
  • Engage with key customers and stakeholders to gather feedback and insights.
  • Ensure a customer-centric approach in product development and business strategies.


Support Product and Service Innovation

  • Encourage innovative sales strategies and solutions to meet evolving customer needs and market demands.
  • Collaborate with product development teams to align sales strategies with product innovation goals
  • Identify market trends and customer needs to inform and support the development of innovative products and services
  • Work closely with R&D and marketing departments to ensure that new products and services meet customer expectations and market demands


Compliance and Ethical Standards

  • Ensure all business operations adhere to company compliance policies and regulations.
  • Promote a culture of integrity and ethical business practices across the organization.
  • Regularly review and update compliance policies to align with legal and industry standards.


Sustainability

  • Integrate sustainability principles into business development and product management strategies.
  • Develop and promote sustainable products and practices within the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to drive sustainability initiatives and reduce environmental impact.


Performance Metrics

  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for business development.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of strategic initiatives and product performance.
  • Implement corrective actions as needed to achieve desired outcomes.


P&L Responsibility

  • Oversee financial performance and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Develop financial strategies to achieve growth and profitability targets.


You will report directly to President, Lifting Automation Division. In this role, you are required to act according to the Piab Group Code of Conduct and know and follow the Piab Group values, mission and routines. This role requires travel to both Piab and external parties’ global destinations when applicable.

Experience and Educational background


  • Advanced degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. MBA preferred.
  • 5-10 years in strategic business development and product management roles.
  • Proven track record of driving business growth and successful product management.
  • Experience in developing and executing strategic initiatives.
