Position Summary

The Communications Associate will drive strategic communications forward via multiple channels, including extensive writing, proofreading, and editing, content development and management, messaging, presentations and reports, branding standards enforcement and protection, internal and external communications, social media, newsletters, press releases, and corporate event opportunities.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • This role will work closely with the communications team to develop and execute campaigns and media relations that help Pacific Clinics build trust and credibility
  • Support the development and execution of internal and external communications and marketing initiatives
  • Collaborate with the communications team and internal partners to implement communications programs that present Pacific Clinics as a trusted brand among independent retailers and team members around the world
  • Responsibilities will span a broad range of tasks, including planning and strategizing, project management, writing and editing, basic content design, social media management, and brand management
  • Under the supervision of the Communications Director, the Communications Associate coordinates and facilitates the creative process for internal and external communications, marketing materials, media releases, and advertisements, including but not limited to social and digital media, updating Pacific Clinics’ website, newsletters, posters, printed materials, and mailing lists
  • Research, identify, and source case studies, customer stories, and potential angles to secure stories that support Pacific Clinics corporate, product, and brand communication strategies
  • Develop and collaborate a wide range of communications materials including blog posts, pitches, launch announcements, press releases, communications plans, statements, media lists, briefing materials
  • Proven track record of writing and developing marketing and communications materials in a variety of media
  • Own and run the speaking and awards calendar and help recommend opportunities to submit Pacific Clinics based on our annual and quarterly objectives
  • Form relationships with internal departments and find opportunities to support critical work
  • Works with graphic design consultant to implement social media presence on all relevant platforms.
  • Provides support to the chief communications officer and communications director with executive communications.
  • Develops and maintains media kits.
  • Helps maintain editorial calendars, messaging archives and media resources.
  • Participates with event planning, as needed.
  • Models Pacific clinics’ approach, mission and core values in all communication and correspondence.
  • Communicates effectively in a culturally competent and diverse consumer population and promotes favorable interaction with managers, co-workers and others.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Experience / Requirements

  • A BA degree in management, public policy, public relations, communications, liberal or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of public relations, communications or related experience required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to write and submit internal communications stories in AP format.
  • Must be able to simultaneously manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations and tight timelines.
  • A highly motivated, detail-oriented self-starter with a passion for excellence, capable of collaborating with a team and working in a fast-paced environment with a great deal of autonomy. Works calmly under pressure.
  • Organized with strong project management capabilities.
  • A genuine interest behavioral health, early education, and positively impacting the community.
  • Must possess a valid California driver's license and maintain an insurable driving record under the Clinics' liability policy.
  • Must be willing to travel locally and work on weekends, evenings, and extended hours particularly during major projects and events


Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand or sit. The employee is required to use hands to produce records and/or documentation in manual or electronic format. The employee must possess ability to ensure significant communication with the Clinics’ community members. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 5 pounds and occasionally move or lift up to 10 pounds. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
