Bilingual Crisis Counselor (Remote, TEMP)

Job Overview

EAC Network is actively seeking dedicated Bilingual Crisis Counselors to join our esteemed Project HOPE program, based in Central Islip, NY. This full-time temporary role allows for remote work, requiring a commitment of 35 hours per week until 6/16/2021 at an hourly rate of $25. As a Bilingual (English/Spanish) Crisis Counselor, you will play a crucial role in providing essential crisis counseling services to individuals, families, and groups, either virtually or in person.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver crisis intervention and emotional support to individuals experiencing distress.
• Conduct client assessments in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Manage client interactions to provide the appropriate level of support effectively.
• Document client interactions accurately and efficiently.
• Schedule virtual appointments with clients and community members.
• Engage in community outreach efforts to raise awareness of available services.
• Provide professional assessment, consultation, and coordination of referrals and services.
• Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and in-service workshops to foster collaboration and growth.
• Attend virtual meetings to share ideas and discuss stress coping techniques for staff support.
• Ensure client files are organized and maintained in a timely manner.
  
  

Required Skills

• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is mandatory.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, and database software.
  
  

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is preferred; a High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• A minimum of two years of relevant work experience is essential.
• Valid NYS ID and access to transportation are required.
