Spherion is excited to partner with a fantastic client in Duluth, MN, to find a talented Human Resources Generalist to join their team. This direct-hire position offers the opportunity to support the HR department in a variety of professional-level functions. You will work closely with Senior HR management to carry out essential responsibilities, including benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment, and ensuring compliance with employment laws.

Hours: Mon-Fri, 8:00AM-5:00PM

Responsibilities

  • Perform administrative tasks for the HR department, including reporting, maintaining employee files, and overseeing benefits administration.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures and maintain the employee handbook.
  • Create and maintain specialized reports for management and accounting.
  • Administer benefits, resolve claims, report changes, approve invoices, and communicate benefits information to employees.
  • Conduct recruitment efforts for all locations, including onboarding and new-employee orientations.
  • Provide employee relations counseling, conduct exit interviews, and support outplacement counseling.
  • Participate in administrative staff meetings and attend relevant seminars.
  • Evaluate reports and departmental performance, recommending improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Maintain HR information system records and compile reports from the database.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
  • Plan and coordinate employee activities and events, leading the Employee Activities Committee.
  • Manage travel arrangements for national and international guests.
  • Serve as a resource for employees on various HR-related inquiries.

Skills And Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline; Human Resources preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to problem-solve, work independently, and thrive in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Human Resources or Recruiting.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing programs.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality in all HR matters.
