As a Manufacturing Installation engineer, you will install, test, and/or implement state-of-the art Automated Systems for general industry, automotive tier suppliers and the automotive companies. Responsibilities include a combination of robot installation, site installation management, system commissioning, robot programming, and onsite support. You will work with other Engineering groups on projects involving the installation and implementation of automated systems at end-user facilities and the manufacturing floor.

Primary Responsibilities Will Include

  • Install, startup, and debug of the system/unit from modular build at FANUC America Corporation (FAC) to installation at customer site until buyoff and customer acceptance.
  • Competent to build and debug electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic automated equipment from drawings and supplied documentation.
  • Ensure all quality related documentation is completed during build and run off at FAC
  • Teach, modify, and fine tune robot paths and programs.
  • Provide prompt, professional, and courteous solutions to customer problems.
  • Process all necessary paperwork and provide the customer/FAC with detailed descriptions of the problem(s) encountered.
  • Provide technical support to customers.
  • Coordinate responsibilities, activities, parts, and schedule with Engineering Manager, Project
  • Manager, and project team members as appropriate to ensure customer satisfaction, and the
  • completion of open issues.
  • Follow Engineering Guidelines and other standardized procedures to comply with product
  • Specifications, laws, and regulations.
  • Must be able to perform intricate repairs or mechanical and electrical items.
  • Ability to analyze and solve service and robot installation problems.
  • Ability to work overtime when required to meet special/critical deadlines.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites including overnight and on weekends as required by customer.

Ideal Candidate Will Have The Following Experience And Education

  • Associate degree or equivalent technical education, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience working in a related environment.
  • Ability to analyze and solve service, engineering, and robot installation problems.
  • Ability to read and interpret prints and related technical documentation.
  • Must be able to perform intricate repairs or mechanical and electrical items.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to drive throughout the organizations service area for business as required.
  • Travel domestically/internationally to install and commission equipment, as required. (30%-65%)
  • Excellent communication with internal and external customers not limited to the following areas: electrical, electronic, pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical.
  • Ability to properly navigate and use a personal computer.
