Prescription Intake Coordinator

Monday Friday 8:30am-5:30pm

A dynamic pharmaceutical company in Whittier is looking for a skilled Prescription Intake Coordinator. This vital position plays a key role in managing new prescription orders and facilitating the seamless processing of referrals and prior authorizations. Prescription Intake Coordinator Responsibilities

• Ensure all patient demographic information is complete and accurate before processing prescriptions.
• Assist in managing new referrals and maintain clear communication with the office, sales team, pharmacy team, and patients.
• Submit and diligently follow up on prior authorization requests via fax on behalf of physicians/providers.
• Accurately adjudicate and resolve any prescription claim rejections.
• Maintain timely and precise records for all prior authorization documents, databases, and files.
• Collaborate with providers to facilitate the appeal process.
• Request and incorporate any missing information into patient charts, ensuring correct entry and adjudication of new prescriptions in the pharmacy system.
• Monitor the new prescription adjudication queue for any necessary clarifications or corrections.
• Represent the pharmacy with professionalism and courtesy in all interactions with patients, providers, and colleagues.
• Work collaboratively with internal staff to address and resolve issues promptly.
  
  

Prescription Intake Coordinator Requirements

• Preferred license with the State Board of Pharmacy (where applicable).
• Prior experience in a Retail/Specialty Pharmacy setting is a plus.
• Ability to maintain accurate records while efficiently managing multiple tasks.
• Strong decision-making skills with the capacity to evaluate options effectively.
• Proficient in spreadsheets, word processing, internet navigation, and email communication.
• Exceptional data entry skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Working knowledge of pharmacy applications and medical terminology.
