Job Summary:

The Vice President of Operations serves as an integral member of the operations leadership team and establishes, maintains, and leads a culture of collaboration and innovation within a positive atmosphere that works to provide a first-class guest experience. This position is to provide day-to-day reporting to the EVP of General Administration & Project Management and ultimately reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer. The position will work together to create and implement operation oversight of the Hall of Fame Village, a subsidiary of the publicly traded Hall of Fame Resort & Entertainment Company (NASDAQ: HOFV, HOFVW).


Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

- Oversee operations staff and third party vendors that are responsible for HOFV event operations, guest experience, ticketing, and security.

- Create and adhere to annual operating plans and budgeting.

- Develop and adhere to standard operating procedures.

- Work with procurement for purchasing needs related to front of house campus operations.

- Ensure that a superior guest experience is had by guests related to rides and attractions.

- Assist in creating revenue opportunities for the operations department.

- Oversee and ensure that the operations of HOFV are compliant with all Federal, State, and Local safety regulations.

- Provide ongoing recommendations to strategically enhance operational performance and opportunities.

- Maintaining and developing positive working relationships with service contractors, suppliers and firms doing business with the Village, including the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Canton Symphony, and Canton City Schools.

- Coordinate and review the work plan for operations initiatives; meet with staff to identify and resolve problems; assign work activities, projects and programs; monitor workflow; review and evaluate work products, methods and standard operating procedures.

- Work with events team(s) on all events throughout the Hall of Fame Village for comprehensive and seamless execution.

- Demonstrate the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, display decisiveness, and show adaptability.

- Supervision of assigned staff, assuming day-to-day responsibilities for personnel related matters that include but are not limited to:

o Assist during interview process, onboarding, and training new hires.

o Complete annual performance reviews for all supervised staff.

o Provide continuous feedback, supervision, and coaching to all supervised staff.

o Create and maintain schedule, assignments, and attendance.

o Approve time clocks and make adjustments as needed.

o Respond in a timely manner to calls, texts, inquiries, and emails.

o Enforce uniform protocol.

- All other duties as assigned.

Requirements


Required Knowledge, Skills, & Desired Qualifications:

- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree.

- Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in operations.

- Minimum of 7-10 years of previous management experience in the above areas of expertise.

- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to work a flexible schedule (nights, weekends & holidays as necessary) is required.

- Must be a flexible and reliable team player, both within own department and entire organization, promoting teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other shifts and departmental management.

- Strong team skills and the ability to collaborate in a fast-paced environment; must possess a strong ability for effective time management and task prioritization.

- Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of performance, working quickly without compromising quality.

- Must have the ability to demonstrate uncompromised judgment and discretion regarding confidential matters while maintaining confidentiality.

- Proven ability in Microsoft Office Suite.

- Must have the ability to work in an evolving early-stage company and with a destination that is continuing to grow.


Physical Requirements:

- The ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly.

- The ability to work in various Ohio weather conditions, inside and outside.

- The ability to work with hot, cold, and hazardous equipment as well as operate phones, computers, copiers/scanners, and other office equipment.

- The ability to move safely over uneven terrain, steps, or in construction zones from time to time.

- The ability to see and respond to hazardous situations.

- Ability to comprehend instructions and retain information.

- Must have manual dexterity necessary to complete all job duties.

- Must be available to work and live within a 20-minute drive radius of Canton, Ohio.
