Job Title: Continuous Improvement Specialist

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Continuous Improvement Specialist to join our team. This role will focus on leading and executing continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing setting, with a strong emphasis on lean and Six Sigma methodologies. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, the successful candidate will play a critical role in fostering a culture of operational excellence and driving impactful change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Spearhead the coordination and accomplishment of objectives related to operational excellence, targeting cost and efficiency enhancements.
  • Assist in the establishment of working capital goals and facilitate improvement activities, including the implementation and sustainability of Kaizen.
  • Oversee the deployment and maintenance of visual management tools as essential instruments for advancing working capital and operational efficiency.
  • Educate team members on Lean, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement methodologies to enhance their capabilities.
  • Define cost reduction targets, budgets, objectives, and key performance indicators to monitor and evaluate both existing and new initiatives.
  • Engage in the formulation and execution of the company's strategic vision to align with current and future business aspirations.
  • Prepare and deliver strategic presentations to support both short-term and long-term goals, including budget establishment and policy formulation relevant to lean practices and operational improvements.

Required Skills

  • Strong project management expertise within a manufacturing context.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with visual management systems and facilitation of Kaizen events.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, machining, testing, and calibration environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline (preferred: Aerospace, Mechanical, Manufacturing).
  • Master's degree in operations/industrial management or Lean Operations is preferred.
  • Six Sigma certification (Master or Blackbelt) is a plus.
