Overview

The Sr. Project Manager – Supply Chain PMO will assist in the development of a disciplined project management methodology for the Supply Chain PMO. This role will provide effective project management of key large cross-functional Supply Chain project and initiatives. This will be accomplished by applying a standard, defined methodology to the project and providing the leadership skills necessary to control the execution of project tasks. The Sr. Project Manager will be responsible for delivering several key project artifacts and shares responsibility and accountability with the project leadership team for the successful delivery of the entire project. While this position has no direct responsibility for supervising others, it will play an important role in the mentoring of Project Managers within the group.

  • Remote: While this position does not currently require relocation, candidates within radius of our physical locations listed below will be required to work in the office a minimum of three days per week. This role will also require 25-30% travel.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation of a PMO within the Supply Chain Organization. This includes the development of a disciplined project management methodology and processes to manage business process improvements. This integration, scope, time, cost, quality, HR, communications, risk management and procurement.
  • Develops an effective plan for controlling project scope, schedule and cost and monitors project execution to ensure plan/project flow. May require implementation of process changes to meet the different functional area needs by establishing new strategies to keep operational requirements from loss of business. Creates and effectively coordinates documentation to explain changes or potential changes to the baseline and ensures the approved changes are implemented. Develops statements of work and project estimates which includes the creation of detailed project plans. Maintains project logs of all submitted changes and their status.
  • Manages Project Communication by developing an effective plan for communicating project information to the project team and to all project stakeholders. Plan should include status reports regarding project performance and other related matters for use in budgeting and resource allocation. Collects and documents all project issues and effectively manages their timely resolution.
  • At the completion of a project or project phase, captures key lessons learned and communicates to peer Project Managers. Effectively applies lessons learned in subsequent projects.
  • Process Improvement projects may require the development of written procedures (SOPs) due to the broad business impact across the Supply Chain Organization.
  • Provides risk management identification and mitigation planning and ensures project teams are following selected project management methodology and quality control process.
  • Shares responsibility with the project leadership for providing a positive work environment. Ensures teams are staffed, duties and responsibilities are understood by everyone. Fosters teamwork environment while motivating assigned associates.
  • Mentoring Project Managers within the PMO.

Qualifications And Requirements

  • Level of Formal Education: Bachelor's Degree (B.A./B.S.)
  • Area of Study: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain or related discipline with a Masters degree preferred.
  • 10+ years experience and/or training
  • Type of Experience:
    • Project Management experience especially within a Supply Chain environment with special focus in the areas of engineering and logistics, warehouse system designs and automated conveyor systems and layouts and construction management.
    • Experience in warehouse reconfigurations and consolidations.
    • Budget preparation and analysis.
    • Previous experience of effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to complete projects ahead of schedule and under budget.
    • Demonstrated leadership qualities such as conflict/issue resolution.
    • Experience with building and managing a project team to a successful project lifecycle.
  • Technical Skills: Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification, Experience with LEAN, Six Sigma or related process methodologies desired.
  • Information Systems: MS Office, MS Visio, MS Project, AutoCAD
  • Technical Competencies: Requires excellent computer application skills including MS Office and MS Project. Ability to read and decipher a building drawing.
  • Skills and Ability:

    • Ability to manage complex projects to completion.
    • Able to communicate effectively and efficiently with the project team, external stakeholders, and OD senior management.
