This includes the manufacturing of medium-power transformers, mobile transformers, mobile electrical substations, trailers, and unitized substations. We offer power transformers for utility applications including power and distribution, transmission voltages, system ties, and automatic voltage regulations, as well as industrial applications. Delta Star also provides comprehensive engineering, testing, maintenance services, and parts for any transformer manufacturer through our Field Service business unit, ensuring our customer's transformers and mobiles maintain peak performance.

Onsite internship located in Lynchburg, VA

Purpose

The IT Intern will support the IT department in various tasks related to hardware, software, and end-user support. This role provides an opportunity to gain practical experience in the field of information technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Support:
    • Assist with troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
    • Provide support for desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
    • Respond to user inquiries and provide timely technical assistance.
  • PC System Maintenance:
    • Help in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems and applications.
    • Perform regular updates and patches to ensure systems are up-to-date.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Assist in documentation of technical procedures and user guides.
    • Assist in maintaining accurate records of hardware and software inventory.
  • Project Assistance:
    • Participate in IT projects and initiatives.
    • Collaborate with team members on various IT-related tasks.
  • Learning and Development:
    • Stay updated on the latest technology trends and advancements.
    • Engage in continuous learning to enhance technical skills.
    • Identify and apply relevant college course work skills and knowledge where appropriate that may be outside of the internship responsibilities.
Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of computer systems, networks, and software applications.
  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems and other Microsoft office productivity software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
