CAD Specialist will focus on field data collection and measurement of buildings using CAD-based technology. The CAD Specialist will have expertise in collecting space and manpower data, proficiency in MicroStation V8i and AutoCAD products, and familiarity with ArcGIS. Experience with GPS data collection. The position may also perform field data collection/measurement of buildings using CAD-based technology and collection of space and manpower data. Must have some familiarity with MicroStation V8i and a strong working knowledge of AutoCAD products, some familiarity with ArcGIS.

Responsibilities And Duties

• Conduct field data collection and building measurements using CAD-based technology
• Digitize and edit floor plans accurately and efficiently
• Manage files, drawings, and maps for report output in various formats
• Adhere to quality control procedures and maintain documented standard operating procedures
• Present information to users and answer questions
• Create mapping data and prepare metadata as needed
• Stay updated on application upgrades and industry standards
• Collect and analyze space and manpower data
• Create accurate and detailed CAD drawings and models
• Utilize GPS technology for precise data collection
• Collaborate with team members to ensure data accuracy and project completion
• May require creating and maintaining documentation
  
  
  

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree or Technical School certificate in Computer Aided Design or related field, or minimum one year of experience
• U.S. citizenship (due to federal contract requirements)
• Valid Driver's License
• Minimum 6-12 months experience in:
• MicroStation CAD (architectural application)
• AutoCAD (architectural application)
• ArcGIS
• Knowledge of architectural floor plans
• Experience with Leica Disto laser measuring devices
• Familiarity with Army regulations and organizational structure (preferred)
  
  
  

Technical Skills and Knowledge:

• Solid understanding and experience with A/E/C CAD Standard 4.x (or later)
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD products
• Familiarity with MicroStation V8i and ArcGIS
• Experience with GPS data collection (preferred)
• Knowledge of SDSFIE 2.6 and 3.1
• Understanding of coordinate systems, mapping scales, and topography
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and other industry-standard applications
• Experience with AR 415-28, AR405-70, and AR 420-1 is beneficial

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Pay: $55,000 - $72,000

Compensation: The compensation will be competitive and commensurate with the candidate’s skills and experience. This position includes health care and retirement benefits.

Job Profile
