This is a non-exempt position.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities
Ability to drive a vehicle to and from various facilities and events. Employee will work in an indoor and outdoor setting and will sit, stand, walk, bend, and twist while performing job duties. Employee may be exposed to environments with mechanical, electrical, fire, water, and chemical hazards while performing duties. Employee will routinely lift material weighing up to 30 pounds and will occasionally pull items weighing up to 100 pounds. Ability to handle small objects and tools.
Required Qualifications
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
Ability to read and understand policies, work orders, and equipment manuals. Basic math skills. Ability to effectively and courteously communicate with the general public and other employees. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Minimum Education, Experience And Certification
Must be at least 17 years of age. High school diploma or GED required unless currently enrolled in high school. A review of your credit report is required and must meet City guidelines. Valid Texas driver's license with driving record that meets City guidelines.
Part-time employees are not eligible to receive the City of Victoria benefits package.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities
- Embraces and upholds the goals and objectives of the Parks and Recreation Department.
- Conducts oneself in a professional manner at all times as a representative of the Victoria Parks and Recreation department.
- Setup and breakdown of any and all equipment as needed for special events.
- Assists in the implementation of programs and events.
- Collects trash/debris before, during, and after special events and as assigned at baseball/softball facilities. Cleans facilities as needed and/or assigned.
- Subject to varied hours based on scheduled events, weekends, holidays, and call-out work as assigned.
- May perform cash handling during event registration and/or for scheduled events.
- Performs duties in a safe and orderly manner, complying with all City and department safety rules.
- Provides public information about and monitors user conformance with park rules and regulations.
- Performs the full range of duties in and around the splash pads to provide a safe and enjoyable recreational setting for individuals using the City's splash pads.
- Performs City splash pad general and contaminant clean-up protocol and follows written standard operating procedures.
- Regular attendance at work and arrives on time.
- Performs duties at all City sports facilities as needed and assigned.
- Responsible for all equipment utilized in the course of the daily work assignments.
- Performs any and all other tasks as needs are identified and as assigned.
