Position: Mechanical Engineering Intern – 2025 Summer Intern Program
Location: Hamden, CT
Amphenol Spectra-Strip is enabling the electronics revolution with wire and cable solutions. We are the market leader for products that power the internet, cloud compute and artificial intelligence. We make components that run at 224Gbps per lane and can download 100 full length HD movies in a single second. Amphenol is a great place with outstanding engineers working on the fastest signals, with all the software and equipment needed to be successful. We are currently seeking a Product Development Engineer to join our team to lead product innovation in design, validation, and launch phases.
Responsibilities
This role supports our Mechanical Engineering group. You will work closely with internal engineers and manufacturing personnel, supporting the development and validation of product prototypes through polit production. This position also works within the production area, creating and testing designs.

A good candidate should be at least a sophomore in a Mechanical Engineering program
This position requires access to controlled technology that is subject to US export controls. What You’ll Do

- Support the product design effort through analysis, testing, and deployment
- Generating detailed technical drawings
- Gather test data to support R&D activities
- Support production with fixture designs
- Identify process deficiencies and help develop solutions to improve those deficiencies
A good candidate should be at least a sophomore in a Mechanical Engineering program
- Experience with solid modeling tools (SolidWorks)
- Ability to communicate with technical & non-technical people
- Ability to work in team environment
