Position Summary: This passionate individual is responsible for serving as an Operations Manager within the company and works proactively, interfacing directly with Foreman and the Operation Support Group to implement local, regional, and national operational strategies.
To achieve operational excellence, the Operations Manager coordinates resources on a national, regional, and local level to drive results at the field level. Accordingly, this position is responsible for developing and implementing operational plans and objectives, assuring they adhere to all HSEQ requirements.
This individual provides direct, one-on-one orientation and assistance to the foreman and company staff, either personally or through direct report field-based coordination or remote expertise. The operations manager is critical in all HSEQ programs and is crucial for all operational success.

Accordingly, this position is responsible for developing and implementing operational plans and objectives, assuring they adhere to all HSEQ requirements.

Essential Duties And Management Responsibilities
- Work proactively with field personnel to support operational needs and business goals, with all efforts focused on delivering VoltaGrid values and operational excellence.
- Conduct customer site visits and provide support to the field operation teams.
- Identify, develop, and drive process simplification and improvement for the assigned teams.
- Assist in meeting contractual agreements and coordinating day-to-day operations for assigned fleets and clients.
- Responsible for pre-planning, job execution, post-job analysis, and overall performance of company assets on location.
- Knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations, applicable laws, and how they affect decision-making.
- Assist in establishing and sustaining improvement processes supporting frontline leaders and the associated business units.
- Fleet management, including scheduling, payroll review function, employee review, disciplinary action, and field support.
- Assist in supervising site-based project controls and personnel associated with the project when appropriate.
- Collaborate and coach business team members to create a culture of diversity and inclusion.
- Provide conflict resolution, coaching, or compliments to direct reports dependent on the situation.
- Engage team members and customers face-to-face and telephonically to complete comprehensive needs assessments, including improvements, operational situations, and functional and cultural needs.
- Functions as a communications liaison between customers and the operations support group.
- Partner with Business Development personnel to keep customers current on technology/operational status.
- Coordinate with customers on technical issues, including performance reviews and process improvements to better support the customer's needs.
- Effectively communicate project-related data to the Operational Support Group team and manage customers and subcontractors with an emphasis on critical thinking, interpersonal skills, problem-solving, and time and priority management.
- Develop and implement standardized operational execution plans, including goals, opportunities, and interventions aligned with VoltaGrid best practices.
- Lead and assist in special projects, including risk reduction initiatives, inventory management, and internal program audits.
- Implement, maintain, and audit programs and procedures to ensure company compliance/relevance.
- Attend and participate in customer project meetings.
- Consult with the Operations Support Group regarding equipment needs and specifications.
- Contribute to preparing weekly project reporting packages, including weekly NPT reports, needs for improvements, and promoting individuals who go beyond their required job responsibilities.
- Compile data to complete both internal and external reports and KPIs.
- Use influencing skills to ensure a strong HSEQ culture is valued by all individuals associated with VoltaGrid, including VoltaGrid personnel and third-party vendors, while performing business with VoltaGrid.
- Verify safety meetings, JSA’s, and all other required daily tasks are completed.
- Respond to incidents and damage accordingly. Assist in all aspects of (injury investigation/reduction, training completion, metrics verification/tracking, etc.) for assigned fleets working in conjunction with the HSEQ department. – including but not limited to safety training, routine maintenance, and incident reporting.
- Accountable for cost management and revenue impact related to assigned business units.
- Accountable for P/L related to assigned business units.
- As required, assist with the Management of Change activities, Cost Control Forecasting, Invoicing reviews, and controllable duties.
- When necessary, provide analysis, recommendations (including corrective action and project execution alternatives), and effective forecasting related to plans, schedules, resource requirements, person-hour expenditures, and physical progress.
- Assist with monitoring subcontract progress payments/site purchase order activity.
- Perform data analysis, trends, and reporting of crucial operational business-level metrics reports.
- Communicate with internal and external vendors for parts and scheduled maintenance.
- High School Education.
- A minimum of two years of experience as a Field Technician/Forman (equivalent to another employer to be determined by VoltaGrid Senior Management).
- Completion of VoltaGrid Qual Card progressive training program.
- Ability to utilize education, training, and experience to design, prepare and perform at a high level.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and manage team members.
- Knowledge of general confidential information policies, procedures, and regulations that govern employee and employer confidentiality.
- Knowledge of general business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordinating people and resources.
- Must be able to work independently and as a team member.
- Clear or safe driving records and a driver’s license are required.
- Strong physical and mental health to maintain a demanding workload.
- Able to work under stressful conditions at times.
- Communication-verbal and written communication with team members, customers, and vendors.
- Strong work ethic of integrity and honesty, strives for excellence in all activities.
