Reports To: AVP of Medical Operations

Summary Of Position

The Vaccine Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing and coordinating our organization's entire vaccination program, which spans across multiple counties. They are tasked with the oversight of all aspects of vaccine handling, from storage to administration, ensuring smooth operation and adherence to all relevant guidelines and regulations.

Education: Graduate from Accredited LPN Program

Experience/Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare management, preferably in vaccine administration or infectious disease control
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills
  • Knowledge of state guidelines and regulations regarding vaccine handling and administration
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Professional Licensure: Unrestricted North Carolina Licensed LPN Licensure

K Ey Responsibilities

  • Monitor the receipt, storage, and administration of vaccines across all sites
  • Monitor utilization, expenditures and wastage among all locations
  • Ensure proper storage conditions and perform regular checks to maintain vaccine potency
  • Develop and implement vaccine distribution plans from warehouse in line with state guidelines and organizational policies
  • Monitor/transfer vaccine inventory throughout the organization to minimize vaccine wastage
  • Provide training and updates to staff regarding vaccine protocols
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding vaccine handling and administration
  • Ensure all vaccine units are monitored with approved data loggers and complete routine audits of temperature logs
  • Ensure compliance with VFC and VFA requirements
  • Ensure emergency plans are updated and followed for vaccine storage and handling
  • Effectively work with other departments such as clinical education and purchasing to ensure key responsibilities are achieved.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
