The Robotics Technician will execute FANUC product manufacturing and business group requirements by utilizing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and computer skillsets to deliver orders that meet customer expectations while maintaining FANUC America Corporate quality standards.
Primary Responsibilities Will Include
- Consistently achieves high quality when working on product assembly, modification, and/or system integration from documentation (prints, illustration, and schematics).
- Display workmanship that meets process demand (including FANUC standard, customer specification, and/or appropriate industrial standards).
- Sequentially follow step by step instructions provided in the Manufacturing Process Plan - documenting all in-process checks.
- Using engineering design documents – place, assemble, and secure robots and associated equipment in defined locations.
- Move robot via teach pendant.
- Load, upgrade, backup FANUC software.
- Define or teach simple robot path.
- Testing or functional verification of products and/or systems as defined (PDE EX testing, Engineer releases or Manufacturing Control plans).
- Troubleshooting or debugging mechanical/electrical equipment.
- Disassembly and preparation of FANUC product and systems for shipment.
- Proper care and use of FANUC tools and compliance with Tool Management Procedure (check‑out and return FANUC tooling daily)
- Compliance with all FANUC Robot Safety Procedures (including but not limited to, HazMat, Lock out tag out and RSIS robot safety)
- Reliable and consistent attendance required.
- Maintain high level of professionalism in appearance, communication, and work area organization / cleanliness.
- Most assignments occur at FANUC’s facilities located in Southeastern Michigan; however, business requirements may necessitate assignments at remote locations or customer sites.
- Ability to work overtime based on business necessity
- Other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1 year experience using FANUC systems automation
- Basic technical training with electrical focus, ETA certified
- Proficient using hand and power tools for electrical focus
- Basic understanding of technical schematics and blueprint with a focus on electrical
- Knowledge of electrical systems and components preferred
- Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues
- Strong ability to speak and write effectively
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements
- Ability to be self-driven and maintain a disciplined approach to responsibilities
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Interpret and comprehend electrical and Mechanical engineering documentation, prints and/or schematics
- Ability to follow and understand MIOSHA regulations (Lockout, Hazardous Material)
- Basic ability to comfortably work on a computer and use basic math skills
- Ability to lift and maneuver a minimum of 50 lbs
- Willingness to travel to other FANUC facilities and customer sites, as necessary
