The Material Planner employs supply chain knowledge to ensure an uninterrupted supply of materials. The purpose of this position is to also provide continuous analysis of FANUC America Corporation (FAC) materials and order fulfillment. This position will work with various groups across FAC to ensure materials availability of component inventory and determine the appropriate stocking levels to meet demand requirements.

The Material Planner employs supply chain knowledge to ensure an uninterrupted supply of materials. The purpose of this position is to also provide continuous analysis of FANUC America Corporation (FAC) materials and order fulfillment. This position will work with various groups across FAC to ensure materials availability of component inventory and determine the appropriate stocking levels to meet demand requirements.
Primary Responsibilities Will Include
- Run the planning report on a daily basis to analyze the demand and issue a PR to purchasing.
- Review existing inventory levels and replenishment dates to proactively identify potential shortages.
- Expedite materials based on changes to lead time, demand, or stocking strategies.
- Analyze customer demand in Oracle and identity and track the root cause to material shortages. Work closely with various groups across FAC to improve materials delivery performance.
- Analyze usage history, lead times, forecasted requirements, and item setups to maintain appropriate safety stock levels on assigned materials.
- Confirm the accuracy of demand with various groups across FAC to limit duplicate demand.
- Run cancellation reports in a monthly basis.
- Develop, recommend, and implement initiatives with KPI’s that support commitment to customer satisfaction and improve organizational performance Contribute and assist in developing systems for optimizing inventory levels to lower the number of expedites.
- Assist in providing reporting and analysis to management as needed.
- Willing to work occasional overtime when required to meet special deadlines in response to customer requirements.
- Other duties / special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain, Operations Management or related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Materials Management, Inventory Control, Purchasing or related field.
- In-depth functional knowledge and experience in ERP systems, preferably Oracle ERP.
- Strategic thinking skills; enjoys analyzing data or trends for the purpose of planning, forecasting, reporting or order delivery performance.
- Proven ability to process, analyze and summarize complex business information using advanced Excel and database techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and execute multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet short deadlines.
- APICS or related certification is beneficial.
- Experience in a manufacturing setting is a plus.
- Experience Using Oracle ERP systems.
