Position Summary

We are seeking a collaborative and motivated Research Assistant who will be responsible for supporting the Research team by accurately gathering, collecting, recording, and analyzing necessary information for the clinical trials.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Research

  • Sets up, operates, and maintains various scientific apparatus.
  • Work under specific instructions to assist the research coordinator with the execution of clinical research protocols.
  • Enter data from forms/sources and documents into the Sponsor database/eCRF/CTMS.
  • Updates trial-related logs as directed by the coordinator.
  • Prepares subject source charts in preparation for clinical trial visits.
  • Collects and Processes Laboratory Specimens required per Protocol.
  • Performs assigned clinical assessments such as but not limited to, EKG tracing, Vital Assessments, PVR, and Uroflow measurements.
  • Schedules research subjects for protocol-required testing under the guidance of the research coordinator.
  • Receives daily shipments and stocks/restocks needed clinical trial supplies apart from Investigational Products.
  • Responsible for ensuring study supplies are within the expiration date.
  • Works with the coordinator to complete chart reviews, data mining, and mailing trial-related information to potential study subjects.
  • Completes required site and sponsor-related training.

Administrative/Clerical

  • May triage clinical calls, ensuring all appropriate questions are asked and documented, recommending an appropriate course of action.
  • Ensure that supporting patient documents, results, and reports are attached to referral requests as appropriate.
  • Collaborate on implementing planned telehealth and remote patient monitoring programs, ASC schedule fulfillment monitoring, may collaborate with leadership to coordinate training and participate in the development and execution of telehealth best practices.
  • Under direction contact patients to provide results, arrange treatment, and/or discuss status.
  • Centralized Fax processing, scanning, and indexing of all pertinent information into patient charts.
  • May occasionally assist with Ad Hoc processing of Bump/Wait/Recall in times of need, remote scanning assistance, patient outreach initiatives, and assistance covering COPS queue (where applicable).

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 6 months of clinical research experience.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in data entry and customer service, preferably in a medical setting.
  • Urology experience preferred but not essential.

Knowledge, Competencies & Skills

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Proficient knowledge of insurance and medical terminology; ICD and CPT Codes.
  • Computer proficiency and prior experience with EMR.
  • Attention to detail and willingness to listen and learn.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal & written.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Very comfortable asking probing questions to patients.
  • Must demonstrate a caring, supportive, compassionate, and patient attitude.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance.
  • Multitasking and proactive problem-solving.
  • Ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute.

Physical Requirements For The Job

  • Regularly required to sit and stand for extended periods.
  • Involves standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, and twisting.
  • Requires full range of body motion, including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs.
