Overview

Under the general direction of the Accounting Manager, the Accounting Specialist is primarily responsible for assisting in entering and uploading journal entries and keeping the Daily Operating Report updated daily.

Responsibilities

The Successful -------------Candidate Will . . .

  • Update Daily Operating Report and balance with AR entries.
  • Upload monthly AR deposits that have been posted.
  • Do journal entries for miscellaneous AR deposits not entered in the Clypboard program.
  • Assist with other miscellaneous journal entries.
  • Review and approve expense reports that are submitted daily.
  • GoGPS billing review and expense distribution.
  • WorkCare billing review and expense distribution.
  • Assist Staff Accountant in generating annual Business Personal Property Tax, Real Estate Tax filings, and tax remittances.
  • Distribute month-end memo.
  • Assist with month-end accounting close duties required during the 6-workday close process.
  • Set up and maintain vendors
  • Back-up AP and/or AR when necessary.
  • Perform special projects as assigned.
  • Minimun of three days per during normal business hours in office

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma and minimum of 2 years of accounting-related experience
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 applications
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Effective time management and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent Excel skills, including the use of formulas regularly
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize competing requests and deadlines
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply general accounting principles and procedures

  • Confidentiality in handling sensitive accounting information

Candidates must meet physical job requirements and safely perform the job duties with or without accommodations:

  • Must be physically able to operate a variety of machines and equipment including computer, office equipment, telephone, etc.
  • Physical demands are essentially those of sedentary work.
  • Tasks may require extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
