Base pay is influenced by several factors including a candidate’s qualifications, relevant experience, and anticipated contributions to meet the needs of the business, along with internal pay equity and external market driven rates. The salary range displayed has not been adjusted for geographical location. The Community Relations Coordinator position brings experience in working with non-profit organizations, community groups, school districts and volunteer groups, and coordinating special internal community engagement activities. Working with the Manager, CSR, the CR specialist will support employee engagement activities, volunteer projects and special events. The position is responsible for the ongoing administration of the lifecycle of contribution and sponsorship requests in the online grants management system and serves on the Corporate Giving Committee. The position will interface with Retail on the coordination of community events at the retail store. The position will also take the lead in coordinating various internal projects and initiatives in support of the CSR team and represent Capital at events in the community as needed.

Responsibilities And Qualifications
- Responsible for the administration of grant and sponsorship requests, which includes creating SIRS and contracts for contributions and sponsorships; closing out requests in the Versaic system, preparing correspondence that accompanies checks, and creating various reports as needed. Coordinate sponsorship benefits as needed. Tracking ticket assets for advertising sponsorships. Participate as a member of the internal Corporate Giving Committee. 30%
- Work alongside CR Managers and Sr. Community Relations Consultant on projects such as the Healthy Schools Grant program, EITC program, and others. Serve on community non-profit committees and attend events in the community as needed. 10%
- Serve as Community Relations Department liaison to Retail Marketing for community events held at the Capital Blue Health and Wellness Centers. Submit catering and space usage requests for community partner events. Support teams at retail locations during open enrollment.
- Coordination of special employee engagement activities, volunteer projects and special events. Work with the Community Relations Managers to coordinate and implement projects and events such as the Secret Santa program, United Way fundraisers and activities, and other special projects. 30%
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent project management skills.
- Ability to effectively develop and manage multiple projects and events concurrently.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to perform job assignments independently.
- Understanding of corporate social responsibility and grantmaking.
- Knowledge of the Central Region non-profit community.
- 3 years’ work experience in community relations, non-profit work, or related field
- B.S. Degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related field preferred.
- This position is classified hybrid, which requires onsite work on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
- Availability to work evenings/weekends as needed for certain events.
- Typical office conditions as well as exposure to outside elements when traveling throughout the community.
- Work requires visual acuity to utilize a computer monitor and analyze written and computer-generated documents as well as operate a motor vehicle.
- While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently required to sit, use hands and fingers, talk, hear, and see.
- Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 5 pounds.
- Travel: 15%
- Key Interfaces: face-to-face, via phone and email with community members, agencies and partners.
