The Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette seeks a sports reporter with multiple strengths. We need someone who can write breaking news, compelling features, and enterprise, who is comfortable producing multimedia, and who’s adept at social media.
Our sports desk covers a variety of college, prep, and community sports.
The right candidate for this job can write clear copy on tight deadlines, provide multimedia, develop sources within the local sports communities, and perform other duties as assigned.
A degree in journalism or a related field is preferred, but experience at a college or professional media company will be considered. The successful applicant will also have a working knowledge of the Associated Press style. Experience recording and producing video, audio, and podcasts, as well as social media experience, is a plus.
The position is based in our Fayetteville office, but travel is a must. Applicant must be able to work nights and weekends and provide transportation. This safety-sensitive position requires a drug screening and background and motor vehicle checks.
