- Monitor delinquent accounts and perform collection duties
- Review reports, research, and resolve billing issues
- Ensure accuracy of payment postings and current account balances
- Contact patients to secure past due balances and verify demographic information
- Maintain credit balances and ensure timely refunds within regulatory guidelines
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum two (2) years of combined medical billing and payment experience
- Knowledge of state, federal, and third-party claims processing
- Knowledge of state and federal collections guidelines
- Must complete required e-learning courses within 90 days of starting the position
- Experience working in an oncology or hematology clinic environment
- Familiarity with HIPAA laws and guidelines
- Strong problem-solving skills related to billing and collections
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality
- Excellent communication skills for patient interaction
