Description

Position Summary:

In keeping with our organization’s goal of improving the lives of the Residents we serve; the Dietary Aide is responsible for providing superior customer service to residents, guests, family members and fellow teammates.

The Dietary Aide will help to assure that the dietary department is maintained in a clean, safe and sanitary manner by assisting in all dietary functions as directed and in accordance with established dietary policies and procedures.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

  • Participate in the food tray line and prepare trays according to diet cards in an efficient manner to meet scheduled meal and snack times.
  • Load food carts and deliver to designated areas within the facility.
  • Bag, plate, store, label and date food items as directed. following dietary guidelines.
  • Set up beverages, label and date following dietary guidelines.
  • Scrape, rinse and rack unclean dishes, utensils and other kitchenware.
  • Run the dish machine in an efficient, quick manner, following dietary guidelines.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the dish room and equipment after each meal period.
  • Sort and stack clean dishes and inspect for cleanliness.
  • Place clean dishes, utensils and related kitchen items in their proper storage place.
  • Sweep and Mop floors in kitchen and related areas.
  • Take out the trash and items to recycle.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the service area and other kitchen areas as assigned.
  • Provides excellent service to Residents, visitors, families, peers and supervisors.
  • Attend and participate in meetings and in-services as directed or scheduled.
  • Completes 100% of all on-line training that is assigned each month.
  • Understands Infection Control and follows the Company’s Infection Control guidelines, such as hand washing principles, understanding of isolation and standard precautions, recognizing signs and symptoms of infection, demonstrating and understanding of the process for identifying and handling infectious waste and cross contamination, maintaining personal hygiene, and complying with OSHA standards in the workplace. Promotes and Protects Resident Rights by assisting Residents to make informed decisions, treating Residents with dignity and respect, protecting Residents’ personal belongings, reporting suspected abuse or neglect, avoiding the need for physical restraints in accordance with current professional standards, and supporting independent expression, choice and decision-making consistent with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Perform other tasks as required.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

Education, Training, and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is expected
  • Serv-Safe Certification preferred
  • One year of experience as a Dietary Aide preferred
  • Will train the right candidate!

Specific Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities

  • Able to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions including some calculations.
  • Basic knowledge of attractive food service, sanitation, and safety.
  • Arrives to work on time for scheduled shifts and works until tasks are completed for the day.
  • Maintain a positive, can-do attitude at all times.
  • Must be able to stand and move 100% of the time while working.
  • Expected to be in proper uniform while working including a hairnet/beard net, short finger nails, and follow basic practices of good hygiene.
  • Cell phone usage while on the clock working is not permitted.
