Job Overview

We are actively seeking a dedicated Corrosion Technician I for a contract role lasting 12 weeks. This position is essential for executing distribution casing data validation between GIS and the Corrosion Database, playing a critical role in maintaining compliance with code-required monitoring and addressing external corrosion challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough audits and field verifications of all casings in GIS to ensure accurate inclusion in the Corrosion Database.
  • Validate that the carrier pipe is composed of steel and determine if replacement with plastic has occurred.
  • Confirm the presence of a test point on the casing or visibility of a vent, utilizing tools like Google Earth for verification.
  • Assess whether the casing is shorted to the carrier pipe.
  • Accurately enter the casings into the Corrosion Database and collect field readings to adhere to monitoring standards.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in data validation and GIS applications.
  • Strong knowledge of corrosion monitoring and mitigation strategies.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data management.
  • Ability to perform effective field verifications and audits.
