Controller

Description

Growing Trucking Company in Pasadena, TX is looking to add a Controller to their team. The Controller will play a key role in financial reporting, ensuring compliance, maintaining internal controls, and driving performance improvements. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will be responsible for a variety of tasks.

Controller Responsibilities

• Prepare financial reports on a consistent basis to provide insights into the company's financial health
• Ensure the company stays compliant with legal guidelines and accounting principles
• Drive performance improvement initiatives using data-driven methods to identify opportunities to enhance profitability and operational efficiency
• Communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, providing financial insights and recommendations when necessary
• Take ownership of financial projects, delivering results in a timely manner while demonstrating strong project management skills
• Collaborate with the financial team to establish and maintain internal controls and policies to protect the company's financial assets
• Maintain organized financial records and develop systematic processes for efficient financial operations
• Identify and address any discrepancies in financial records, ensuring financial accuracy at all times
  
  

Requirements

Controller Requirements:

• Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience as a Controller, preferably in a similar industry
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master's degree or CPA certification would be an advantage
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management
• Demonstrable experience in Auditing and Budget Processes
• Strong knowledge of Financial Reporting and Financial Reporting Standards
• Expertise in Internal Control processes and Month End Close procedures
• Experience with Business Process Improvement strategies and their implementation
• Must have hands-on experience with NetSuite or similar financial software
• Excellent analytical, decision-making, and strategic planning skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on team collaboration
