Business Intelligence (BI) Consultant

Description

We are in search of a Business Intelligence (BI) Consultant to join our team located in The Woodlands, Texas. This role involves the creation and maintenance of data models and reporting systems, as well as the development of interactive dashboards to visualize key business metrics. Your work would be instrumental in driving strategic decision-making through actionable insights derived from raw data. This is a long-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Translate business needs into effective data models and visualizations to facilitate strategic decision-making.
• Develop and maintain data models and reporting systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Create interactive dashboards and reports to visualize key business metrics, making complex data easily understandable.
• Collaborate with different business units to identify and implement Business Intelligence (BI) solutions.
• Ensure data accuracy and implement data quality measures to maintain the integrity of the information used in decision-making processes.
• Provide training and support to end-users on BI tools and dashboards to enhance their understanding and usage.
• Stay current with emerging BI technologies and best practices to ensure the use of the most effective tools and methodologies.
• Optimize query performance and create user-friendly dashboards.
• Use your proficiency in SQL, data warehousing technologies, and popular BI platforms such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Leverage your skills in Atlassian Jira, BusinessObjects Technologies, Cognos Business Intelligence, Data Visualization, Maps API, AB Testing, Ad Hoc Reporting, Agile Scrum, Analytics, and Business Intelligence (BI) to perform your duties effectively.
  
  

Requirements

• Proficiency in Atlassian Jira for issue tracking and project management
• Solid experience with BusinessObjects Technologies for enterprise reporting
• Familiarity with Cognos Business Intelligence for reporting, analysis, scorecarding, and monitoring of events and metrics
• Expertise in Data Visualization for presenting data in a pictorial or graphical format
• Knowledge of Maps API for customization and embedding of maps in websites or applications
• Experience in AB Testing to compare two versions of a webpage or other user experience
• Ability to create Ad Hoc Reporting for dynamic, real-time data analysis
• Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodologies for project management
• Strong analytical skills for interpreting complex digital data
• Experience in Business Intelligence (BI) for strategies and technologies used by companies for data analysis.
