Controller

The Controller role encompasses a strategic leadership position within a thriving manufacturing firm based in Waterloo, Iowa. This vital position will assume comprehensive responsibility for directing and managing all accounting and financial reporting processes. The ideal candidate will oversee the department's activities to ensure accurate and timely financial deliverables and analysis. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Controller will play a crucial role in guiding the financial directives of the company aligned with organizational goals and market dynamics.

Compensation: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute comprehensive financial reporting packages to internal stakeholders and banking institutions, ensuring all key metrics are well-analyzed and communicated.
• Handle full ownership of the balance sheet including reconciliations, adjustments, and overall integrity verification.
• Conduct thorough financial analysis on monthly results including variances and management discussion & analysis documentation.
• Manage all facets of Billing/Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable departments, ensuring seamless and efficient processes.
• Lead the ongoing enhancement and maintenance of financial accounting processes and operational procedures to bolster efficiency and compliance.
• Direct weekly cash management operations including forecasting to optimize financial resources.
• Participate in annual budget and quarterly forecasting exercises to align financial planning with strategic business objectives.
• Support risk management and insurance activities including the gathering and provision of data for annual renewals.
• Champion the usage and functionality of the Syteline ERP system within the financial accounting team to maximize technological investments.
• Take on project work and additional duties as necessitated by the evolving business landscape or assigned by the CFO.
  
  

Minimum Position Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Analytics.
• Solid background as a Plant Controller or similar capacity in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven expertise with ERP systems tailored for manufacturing settings.
• Experience with database structures and query tools applicable to financial systems.
• Comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience in financial statement preparation and report generating processes.

• Previous experience working as a Controller for a Tier-1 supplier to large OEMs.
• Advanced familiarity and working knowledge related to financial process optimization in manufacturing contexts.
• Familiarity with risk management and compliance frameworks within financial operations.
• Advanced proficiency in managing integrated financial systems and software.
• Leadership experience with proven capability to mentor and lead a team.
