Salary Information
Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade. A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and MCCP Board Rules & Regulations
Nature of Work
The fundamental reason this classification exists is to provide clerical and paraprofessional support to librarians.? Major work responsibilities include: performing circulation duties; serving patrons and the public; performing collection maintenance activities; and performing miscellaneous duties.? Library Assistant Is differ from Library Assistant IIs in that IIs are expected to act in the place of absent staff, including librarians, in various branches throughout the library system.? Library Assistant Is are typically assigned to one branch and/or department at a time and work under the direct supervision of a librarian. Library Assistant Is report directly to a librarian.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and six months library page experience shelving books in a library branch. Note: Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
Kind of Examination
