Job Description Summary The Global Environmental, Social, & Governance Counsel is the chief counsel for the Environmental, Social, & Governance (“ESG”) risk area. As chief counsel of this important compliance risk area, you will be responsible for working collaboratively with the GE Aerospace Sustainability Leader and other key business leaders to ensure the company has sufficiently robust compliance controls to effectively manage the risk area. This includes helping develop the strategy for compliance, establishing training regimens and preparing training materials, setting communications plans and timing, authoring policies and procedures, performing regular risk assessments, monitoring controls for improvement opportunities, driving control improvements where appropriate, and acting as the subject-matter expert on all global ESG laws and regulations. Essential Responsibilities
- Keep current on global regulatory changes, enforcement trends, and other key developments and leverage the external learnings to further your internal risk management strategy.
- Oversee, monitor, and (where appropriate) improve enterprise-wide ESG compliance processes and risk controls with the consistent goal of ensuring GE Aerospace is – through the processes and controls – capable of effectively managing the risk area.
- Act as subject matter expert on global ESG laws and regulations.
- Provide advice, training, and support principally related to ESG compliance issues to multi-functional teams embedded throughout the GE Aerospace, including the GE Aerospace Sustainability Leader.
- Drive initiatives to forecast emerging risks within the business and implement solutions to manage those risks.
- Utilize LEAN to simplify processes and reduce cycle time, including development of standard practices and web-based tools.
- Develop and deliver comprehensive compliance training to the business relating to relevant areas of risk.
- Assist lawyers and non-lawyers on ESG legal and business issues.
- Manage referral of matters to in-house legal specialists and occasionally outside counsel.
- Acts with humility, leads with transparency, and delivers with focus.
- The base pay range for this position is $ 187.500 to $312.500 The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible This posting is expected to close on November 1, 2024 .

Essential Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience managing or advising in the ESG risk areas.
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
- At least 10 years of legal experience as a practicing attorney.
- Member in good standing with a State Bar.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job.
- Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
- Strong program and project management skills.

- Established analytical ability.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and advise on a rapidly evolving global regulatory environment.
- Experience with corporate compliance, integrity investigations and audit functions. Strong interpersonal and leaderships skills.
