If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.

Responsibilities
- Oversees the administrative and professional tasks critical for the operations of Solid Waste Services.
- Provides senior management support across various areas, including the planning, design, direction, and overall management of one or more business units within Solid Waste Services.
- Supervises a diverse range of administrative and operational matters.
- Applies effective management practices to develop, modify, enhance, and implement departmental operational policies and regulations.
- Executes programs with a high degree of independence, utilizing significant initiative and independent judgment while adhering to established policies.
- Work reviewed by the Operations Officer and/or Deputy Director through meetings, observations, and evaluations of reports and outcomes.
