Position Overview
Proficient in troubleshooting and maintaining complex electrical systems - Expertise in instrumentation calibration and control systems - Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and protocols Safety is paramount in our field. What you will be doing:
This job requires basic math skills; moderate computer skills; the ability to climb a ladder, drive a forklift, use the manlift, and wear a respirator. The person must be capable of using the necessary equipment to test and repair electrical circuits up to 600 volts AC. The person must also be able to troubleshoot and repair both pneumatic and electronic instrumentation loops
Repair, install & troubleshoot electronic & pneumatic instrumentation & control equipment, as well as electrical work from 24V up to services involving 2300V.
Must have a detailed working knowledge of all pneumatic & electronic instrumentation & control equipment used in the plant.
Must be able to troubleshoot & repair the various types of temperature, pressure, level & flow instruments in use.
Able to work from electrical drawings & diagrams.
Also involved in the installation of new equipment up to 600 volts, conduit up to 2” diameter in pipe racks.
Utilize diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools. Operate forklift, and manlift
Knowledge of programming & troubleshooting PLC’s & distributive control systems.
Hs&e Responsibilities
Responsible for following all Safety polices that have been established at the Hammond plant e.g. Stop Work Policy, Zero Tolerance Policy, etc.
Participate in weekly & monthly safety meetings.
Ensure that all permits have been issued, that the proper PPE and tools are being used, and that all necessary lock out and tag outs have been completed prior to starting a job.
Immediately report any unsafe condition or behavior to your supervisor.
Perform the CEM inspections and calibrations as required and document the results.
Actively participate in the housekeeping of the IE Shop and assigned area of responsibility. Ensure the cleanliness of a work area after a job is completed.
Adhere to the “Standards for Employee Conduct”.
Required Qualifications
Highschool diploma or GED required, Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; preferred
Three plus years of experience working in the Instrumentation and Electrical industry within a manufacturing environment
