The Burnsville, MN HR Business Partner organization has an opportunity for an internship for a student who desires to learn more about Human Resources and enter the Human Resources field upon graduation. The Burnsville manufacturing site has ~1900 employees and contains 5 Product Value Streams (Air Data Sensors; Engine & MEMS; Ice, Rain & Stall; Integrated Air Data Systems; and Video & Connectivity) with 19 different Product Lines. You will provide consultation and critical analysis on all aspects of the employee life cycle while working collaboratively with and empowering business leaders to make decisions.

You will be engaged in meaningful work that is directly connected to meeting business objectives. You will work collaboratively across HR functions and teams to provide high-impact HR solutions and partner with managers to execute critical HR processes that enable business success.

The HR internship offers a comprehensive onboarding and peer mentoring program along with formal and just-in-time learning and development. Interns will be coached on how to establish trusted relationships with their stakeholders through collaboration, effective communication and partnering skills.

What You Will Do:

  • Partner with leadership to implement and raise awareness about HR programs which support the business goals and produce results in a complex matrix environment
  • Establish, maintain, and optimize HR business processes to best meet business and employee experience objectives (headcount planning/reporting, employee experience transformation actions, career pathways development, performance evaluation process, etc.)
  • Implement strategic short and long-term HR initiatives, in partnership with the senior HR and local leadership, to drive business results; quantify business results via metrics review
  • Address HR-related inquiries from all levels of employees

  • Understand how HR aligns with business goals, contributing to the overall organizational success
  • Learn to use data to drive HR decisions, including turnover rates, employee engagement, and workforce demographics while gaining hands-on experience with Workday and Qlik
  • Understand how to support culture, leadership development, and change management initiatives
  • Develop skills in partnering with various departments and building relationships across teams
  • Gain experience in initiatives to improve employee morale, satisfaction, and productivity

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Proficient knowledge using Microsoft Office products
  • Workday experience preferred

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
