About the job:
Kent is looking for a Project Document Controller to support our client’s project(s) in the Baytown, TX area.
You will lead the delivery of documents on time between the relevant functions and will be responsible for development, maintenance, distribution and security of the project drawings and technical data. This includes all hard copy and electronic documentation residing in the project and shared directories for IFC Packages and Project Deliverables. The Project Document Controller must be self-motivated at initiating contacts within and outside the company to gather and/or develop information necessary to perform the job function.
The successful candidate should be able to interface and communicate effectively with all disciplines associated with projects. Strong result oriented, impact and influence skills are essential.

Skills and Responsibilities:
- Issue IFD, IFA, and IFC packages.
- Initiate transmittal distributions.
- Submit new drawing number requests to client.
- Submit drawing checkout requests to client.
- Provide checked out drawings and new document numbers to discipline leads.
- Issue loop folders for checkout of instrumentation and equipment.
- Transmit final project documents for archival.
- Facilitate closure process for capital projects.
- High school diploma plus five years of directly related experience in a similar setting where technical experience and competence has been clearly demonstrated.
- Extensive knowledge of document control (checking/checkout).
- Must have an in-depth understanding of company policies, practices, and procedures.
- Experienced in developing logical sequencing of work.
- Must be able to backfill for Reproduction (scanning and copying).
- MS Office (Excel and Word) and product competency required.
- Experience using an industry proven document storage, tracking, and transmitting software required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with engineering and/or construction of plant equipment desirable.
- Aconex experience is a plus.
