We are seeking a dynamic and experienced HR Director to join our team. The HR Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources practices and processes. This role requires a hands-on leader who can develop and implement HR strategies that support our business goals and enhance our company culture. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR management, excellent interpersonal skills, and a deep understanding of the unique needs of a family-owned business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic HR Leadership:
  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior management on HR-related matters.
  • Champion company culture and values, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Talent Acquisition and Retention:
  • Oversee the recruitment process, from job posting and candidate sourcing to interviewing, offer letter, and onboarding (i.e. Ajera, ADP, Employment forms, Health Benefits, 401K, etc)
  • Develop and implement effective talent acquisition strategies to attract top talent.
  • Create and manage retention programs to enhance employee satisfaction.
  • Performance Management:
  • Maintain and implement EOS performance evaluation system.
  • Work with Supervisor/Division Managers to conduct annual Performance Reviews. Maintain employee files.
  • Address and resolve employee performance issues promptly and effectively.
  • Compensation and Benefits:
  • Manage competitive compensation and benefits programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to compensation and benefits.
  • Employee Relations:
  • Act as a point of contact for employee concerns and issues.
  • Mediate and resolve conflicts, fostering a positive and collaborative workplace.
  • Promote a culture of open communication and mutual respect based on our core values.
  • Training and Development:
  • Work with management to support the implementation of training programs and to enhance employee skills and career development.
  • Track all training, certifications, degrees, licenses
  • Notify employees of all upcoming expiration dates
  • Track & confirm required licensures for all active and upcoming projects is up to date for all employees
  • HR Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Working with Managers and Supervisors to create Job Descriptions
  • Maintain and update employee records.
  • Job Description and Application Resumes
  • Offer Letters
  • Promotion notice
  • Performance Review
  • Training Documents – Safety, Continuing Ed, etc.
  • Employment forms and records
  • Maintain and update Employee Policies and Handbook

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in a family-owned business or small-to-medium enterprise (SME) is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions quickly and effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
