Job Description
This position serves as the overall assistant to the Metro Region Engineer in all aspects of region activities. Responsible for assisting in the overall direction of Metro Regions' strategic plans, policies, programs, and procedures. Serves as the acting Region Engineer in the absence of the Region Engineer. Administer and direct all activities of the Development, Construction and Operations sections along with the regions Transportation Service Centers (TSCs). Oversees and deploys available resources of professional employees with multi-disciplinary skills and employees who are represented by several labor contracts to accomplish the work. Monitors the productivity, balance and organizational alignment of the region support staff, TSCs, and Central Office in the areas of responsibility within the Metro Region. Responsible for resolving complex issues to ensure continued implementation and operation of MDOT services and products to its customers.
The "Salary" listed above is a range that reflects the minimum rate through the maximum rate of the State Office Administrator 17 position.

Required Education And Experience
Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
Experience
Two years of experience as a professional manager or program/staff specialist, or equivalent experience.
Alternate Education And Experience
Education level typically acquired through completion of high school and three years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 14 level; or, two years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement supervisory experience at the 15 level, may be substituted for the education and experience requirements.

- Possess a valid Driver's License.
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer in the State of Michigan.
