Position Summary

Mary's Land Farm is seeking enthusiastic and responsible individuals to join our team as Summer Camp Counselors for the 2025 summer season. The ideal candidates will have a passion for working with children, creating memorable experiences, and fostering a positive and welcoming environment for all. As a Camp Counselor, you will play a pivotal role in supervising and engaging campers in various activities while always ensuring their safety and well-being. In addition, you will participate in community Faith Formation activities throughout the entire summer.

Responsibilities

·  Supervise and engage campers in a variety of outdoor activities, including group games, farming educational sessions, virtue talks, and outdoor adventures.

·  Serve as a positive role model for campers, demonstrating enthusiasm, joyfulness, and respect in all interactions.

·  Work with fellow counselors and camp staff to plan and execute a vibrant and enjoyable camp day for campers from the ages of 4-12 creating unique and positive memories.

·  Assist in the daily setup, organization, and cleanup of camp facilities to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.

·  Provide guidance and support to campers, encouraging personal growth and teamwork throughout the entire day.

·  Supervise each campers' well-being and address any behavioral or disciplinary issues in a constructive and compassionate manner.

·  Uphold and enforce camp rules and safety protocols to ensure the overall security and welfare of all campers and staff.

Qualifications

·  Must be at least 18 years of age.

·  Previous experience working with children in a camp, school, or recreational setting is preferred.

·  Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with campers, parents, and fellow staff members.

·  Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a proactive and positive attitude towards teamwork and collaboration.

·  Ability to adapt to changing situations and respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations.

·  CPR and First Aid certification preferred (training may be provided).

·  Must pass a background check, fingerprinting process, and State of MD and Federal checks. 

·  Compensation will be provided on a bi-weekly basis.
