Senior Controls Engineer

This is a pivotal opportunity for a Senior Controls Engineer to lead in the design, development, and implementation of sophisticated control systems in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Responsible for overseeing intricate PLC programming projects, the role demands active collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure that system specifications meet high standards of both productivity and quality throughout the product development cycle. Salary: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Design and develop comprehensive control systems and PLC programs tailored to meet specific application needs.
• Work closely with product development teams to define control system requirements and ensure they align with project objectives.
• Perform in-depth system analysis to troubleshoot issues and optimize the performance of existing control systems.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation for control system architecture, design, and programming standards.
• Execute rigorous testing and debugging of control systems to validate performance against compliance and safety standards.
• Provide expert-level technical support and training on control systems to both internal team members and external stakeholders.
• Stay abreast of new industry trends, technologies, and regulatory standards relevant to controls engineering and automation.
• Mentor and support junior engineering staff, promoting a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
  
  

Minimum Position Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Minimum 3 years of substantive experience in controls engineering with a strong focus on PLC programming and system development.
• Proficient in utilizing various PLC programming languages such as ladder logic, structured text, and function block diagram.
• Extensive knowledge of industrial automation protocols including Ethernet/IP, Modbus, and CAN.
• Proficient with HMI/SCADA systems and familiar with software development tools used in automation and control processes.
• Understanding of and experience with adhering to international safety standards such as ISO, IEC, and NFPA.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical or Control Systems Engineering.
• Working experience with advanced PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and Omron.
• Leadership experience or demonstrated capability in managing or mentoring engineering teams.
• Proven track record of innovation in automation and control systems design.
