Responsibilities
A global leader in sustainable mobility solutions is seeking a talented Production Engineer. As a key member of their team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the production and deployment of their cutting-edge EV charging solutions. You will leverage your in-depth knowledge of power electronics, rectifier and inverter applications, relays, circuit protection, and overall systems architecture to ensure the highest quality and reliability of their products.
Responsibilities
- Possess a deep understanding of the product's design, features, specifications, and functionality, including all subcomponents.
- Ensure product adherence to quality standards through production process monitoring, quality checks, and implementation of quality control measures like control plans, FMEA, 5-Why, 8-D, and other relevant tools, particularly in power electronics solutions.
- Actively identify and resolve production-related issues. This includes root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, and preventive measures for electronic components, boards, electromechanical systems, and overall system performance.
- Continuously drive process improvement through optimization, bottleneck identification, and recommendations for increased efficiency and cost reduction.
- Provide technical guidance and support to production teams, serving as the primary technical link between production, design engineering, and supplier quality. Conduct systems-level troubleshooting, tracing root causes to process, supplier, or design issues, and detailing remedies.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to production processes, quality control, and improvements.
- Conduct training sessions for production staff to ensure product understanding and best manufacturing practices.
- Maintain open communication with engineering teams, production managers, suppliers, and quality assurance personnel to address issues and maintain alignment.
- Prioritize safety in the production environment by identifying and mitigating potential hazards.
- Oversee product testing and validation processes to ensure adherence to performance and safety standards.
- Collaborate with product development, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure a smooth transition of manufacturing to the US.
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering or a technical discipline, coupled with at least 3 years of quality manufacturing experience adhering to ISO 9001 standards, or a minimum of 5 years of experience in the printed circuit/assembly industry with current relevant work experience.
- Proficient in analytical and statistical methods, with experience in creating and reporting on data.
- Working knowledge of IPC standards, specifically IPC-610 Class 2 requirements.
- Certification in Quality Engineering Auditing or ISO 9001 is advantageous.
- Certification in Quality Engineering is a plus.
- Experience in quality manufacturing support at the assembly and PCB levels.
- Certified Internal Auditor certification is preferred.
- Ability to train and develop production teams in best practices and quality inspection techniques.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Minitab.
- Self-motivated, highly organized, and capable of prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
