Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Work closely with process engineers and integration engineers, and leverage engineering database information to analyze the integrated process behind different yield issues, across different designs and technologies of MEMS micro-springs
  • Drive brainstorming sessions, design, drive and analyze experiments to verify the physical mechanisms of yield issues, leveraging demonstrated statistical analysis competence to ensure validity of conclusions.
  • Present the findings to process module owners and engineers, as well as to integration engineering to align on the conclusions
  • Working in team with Process Engineering and Process Integration, and based on the physical root cause learnings, propose possible new ideas on how to resolve/improve
  • Hold weekly yield meetings, focused on prioritizing issue resolution based on the impact on fab yield.
  • Set up and maintain yield dashboards that can be readily used by Engineering as well as by Leadership, to review status and progress of defect resolution, fab yield, technology yield, design yield, etc.
  • Work closely with module engineering and IT to easily access the engineering database in a standardized manner, ensuring good synchronization among data available to all
  • Maintain a team player attitude, to foster collaboration between different internal teams and organizations, required to understand, and eventually resolve, the most complex problems

Education, Experience And Skills Required

  • A Master's degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical engineering, or equivalent discipline. A Ph.D. degree is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience, working on process integration of semiconductor devices, MEMS preferred
  • Self-starter, with strong oral and written communication skills. Able to communicate at different levels of the organization
  • Must have demonstrable experience and a passion for analyzing and understanding the “physical” reason for failures in a complex integrated process
  • Sound understanding of multiple characterization techniques. Directly experienced with DOE methodology
  • Expertise in data mining, script generation, database querying, statistical analysis

Preferred Skills

  • Understanding of semiconductor tools operation and challenges
  • Understanding of SPC
  • Past successful history of efficiently working in a cross-functional manner
  • Some level of programming skills, to more efficiently collect and analyze large sets of data

The pay range for this role in Livermore, CA is between $163,400 and $214,400. The pay range may differ in other locations. FormFactor maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
