Job Description

DI Production Manager

Objective

Within our manufacturing business, the role of Production Manager is to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all production for the assigned shift and department. This role requires the candidate to be familiar with the overall operation and production requirements for all roles assigned to the department as well as quality and documentation standards. The production supervisor may be required to operate equipment as needed to maintain the overall production goals. Our customers rely on our Production team to produce high quality materials that meet their most demanding applications.

Essential Job Functions

• Drive production output to meet production goals and suggest/implement new ways to improve efficiency and increasing throughput
• Document any production issues, completed production, and other pertinent information to be passed to oncoming shift
• Assign available personnel as required to meet production and/or current schedule ne
• Operate machinery as required depending on departmental assignment.
• Understand production logs and associated documentation as well as required material usage reporting
• Understand all functions of the machine, set-up, balancing, size changes and fine tuning of quality
• Power up/down machines
• Correctly document or log out daily production at the end of shift
• Setup or change over the machine from a previous job to perform the requirements of a new job
• Minimize waste by adjusting machine
• Comply with lock out/tag out rules
• Monitor and ensure compliance with all safety standards
• Conduct and document shift and/or department specific safety meetings
• Correctly use PPE, Safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection or other as required
• Safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks in a crowded environment
• Secure all equipment and building at completion of the shift
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor
  
  

Requirements

• High school diploma is required, post-high school education is preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing work environment preferred
• Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience is required
• Minimum supervising a group of 25 or more people
• Prior forklift experience is required
• Proven track record of good attendance and being on time according to work schedule
• Basic mathematical and computer skills required
• Basic competence with MS office suite
  
  

Physical Requirements

The work is performed in non-climate-controlled environment with moderate noise level. This job frequently requires the employee to stand; walk; use hands.; balance; stoop; kneel; push; pull; reach overhead; read; talk or hear. The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions.
