Job Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Principal Firmware Verification Engineer to become an integral part of our innovative and dynamic team. This remote position offers an opportunity to play a pivotal role in the verification and validation of firmware for SSD (Solid State Drive) security features. You will engage closely with firmware engineers and architects to design, develop, and execute verification tests, ensuring our products’ security features adhere to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with firmware engineers and architects to establish a comprehensive verification strategy for SSD security features.
  • Design, develop, and implement white-box and gray-box tests for SSD products aligned with our development roadmap.
  • Participate in test plan and code reviews to guarantee the scalability and effectiveness of tests in accordance with project requirements.
  • Lead efforts in failure analysis and liaise with integration and execution engineers for test deployment, promptly addressing any identified issues.
  • Triage and debug test failures by closely collaborating with firmware engineers, examining logs and events for thorough troubleshooting.

Required Skills

  • Strong architectural review capabilities to guide and assess test development efforts and coverage.
  • Deep understanding of embedded software fundamentals and storage principles, including NVMe/PCIe specifications.
  • Proficiency with Git, CI, and source code management, along with familiarity with agile development practices.
  • Advanced skills in programming languages such as Python, C, or C++.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • For candidates with a Bachelor’s degree: A minimum of 7 years of experience in storage, semiconductor, or non-volatile memory development.
  • For candidates with a Master’s degree: A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
  • A strong enthusiasm for storage technology and secure product development.
  • Solid background in product security engineering, especially in validating security algorithms and features.
  • Proficiency in security protocols, including TCG Opal/Ruby/Pyrite, IEEE 1667, SPDM, and others.
  • Understanding of applied cryptography and security, such as secure boot, device attestation, and user data encryption.
