Description

We are are looking for a Systems Specialist, ITS. As a member of the SWARCO McCain family, you will coordinate and manage system software deployment, software maintenance, and customer projects. The successful candidate shall be able to manage the installation of system software and related software components including SQL databases. The Systems Specialist, ITS will also support software testing for upcoming releases and also provide technical sales support when required for new applications.

Duties / Responsibilities

• Collaborates with department and project staff for the installation and maintenance of system traffic management system software.
• Project Engineering leadership for Software Systems contracts.
• Facilitates and contributes to the development of project plans and customer solutions.
• Technical sales support for system software applications and video management systems.
• Participate in pre-release software testing.
• Prepares periodic progress and cost reports for leadership.
• Ensures compliance with codes, guidelines, best practices, and policies.
• Collaborates with other department staff to identify and troubleshoot problems.
• Collaborates with others to share problems and solutions.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree relating to duties highly desired.
• Computer and mathematical skills required.
• Project Engineering experience is required.
• Experience in traffic or transportation industry is desired.
• Experience in technical sales of video management systems is desired.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  
  

Physical Conditions / Requirements

• No unusual physical requirements. Requires no heavy lifting and nearly all work is performed in a comfortable indoor facility.
• Occasional – Routine deadlines; usually sufficient lead time; variance in work volume seasonal and predictable; priorities can be anticipated; some interruptions are present; involves occasional exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than immediate supervisor.
• Job frequently requires sitting and handling objects with hands.
• Job occasionally requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, talking, hearing, and lifting up to 10 pounds.

Salary Description

$80k - $120k per year, depending on experience
