We seek a skilled, compassionate Chaplain to serve patients, loved ones, and staff's religious, spiritual, and existential needs. This role also serves as a resource to colleagues, providing education on religious needs and observances according to various faith traditions. Lead worship and meditation services. Support families as they make difficult care decisions. Visit hospital units, lead support groups, and be a vital source of guidance and compassion for patients facing life-altering conditions.
Chaplain – Spiritual Care and Chaplaincy – Weill Cornell – Per Diem
Join a dedicated team of staff members and an extensive Clinical Pastoral Education program that includes residents, interns, and supervisory education students. We're shaping the future of hospital-based spiritual care through our Accredited Clinical Pastoral Education programs, seminary field education, and other training. Join us and help impact the lives of patients from across the world.
Working Weekends & Holidays will be required.
Required Criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Completion of one unit of CPE
- If ordained, good standing with the ordaining religious body and able to provide an official endorsement from a denominational official.
Preferred Criteria
- Certification by the Association of Professional Chaplains’ Board of Chaplaincy Certification, Inc., the National Association of Catholic Chaplains, Neshama: the Association of Jewish Chaplains, the Canadian Association for Spiritual Care, and/or the ACPE: The Standard for Spiritual Care & Education—including four units of ACPE Clinical Pastoral Education
- Master’s degree in theology, psychology, or philosophy (or equivalent), and recognized faith-/spiritual-group endorsement (or equivalent)
