We are hiring for a Litigation Paralegal to work in our fast-paced office location in Farmington Hills, Mi.
The Litigation Paralegal will assist the General Counsel, outside attorneys, and internal risk management department and will be responsible for all aspects of litigation support, including, but not limited to, communication with attorneys, employees, insurance companies, third party claims administrators, witnesses; drafting documents, including correspondence, discovery, disclosures, and other pleadings; providing research support services including document preparation and review; interviewing clients and witnesses; research, investigations, and fact checking.

We are hiring for a Litigation Paralegal to work in our fast-paced office location in Farmington Hills, Mi.
The Litigation Paralegal will assist the General Counsel, outside attorneys, and internal risk management department and will be responsible for all aspects of litigation support, including, but not limited to, communication with attorneys, employees, insurance companies, third party claims administrators, witnesses; drafting documents, including correspondence, discovery, disclosures, and other pleadings; providing research support services including document preparation and review; interviewing clients and witnesses; research, investigations, and fact checking.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Meets with attorneys and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projects.
- Drafts legal documents, including routine pleadings and motions, affidavits, and interrogatories.
- Researches and analyzes statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources; provides written analysis to attorneys.
- Collect and organize relevant documents, information, and data for attorney review and case preparation.
- Manage discovery, subpoenas, and other document requests. Compile responsive information and records.
- Interviews witnesses and prepares summaries of their statements.
- Monitor incoming pleadings, discovery, and other case-related documents.
- Maintain calendar and manage deadlines, ensuring that attorneys are aware of deadlines.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes, and other related matters.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Experience with court filing systems and federal, state, and local rules of practice.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentially, and to exercise discretion and good judgement.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Associate degree in Paralegal Studies or related field required.
- Some related experience preferred.
- Some real estate and/or real estate finance experience preferred, but not required.
