Job Description
Primary Function of PositionThe Ion endoluminal system is Intuitive's robotic platform for minimally invasive biopsy in the peripheral lung, with an initial goal of improving the early diagnosis of lung cancer. In this internship, you will work within the Ion Digital Software team and contribute to the future of our digital features and solutions.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay (paid at an hourly rate), benefits, and a housing allowance. The hourly rate is prorated against the intern program salaries listed and total program compensation will be based on internship duration.

Base Salary Range Region 2: $64,480 - $95,680

Workplace Type: Set Schedule - This job will be onsite weekly, the percentage of onsite work will be defined by the leader.

Job Description

In this internship, you will work within the Ion Digital Software team and contribute to the future of our digital features and solutions.
Essential Job Duties
- Contribute to digital applications for a medical robot, including cloud based applications (APIs, serverless computing, containerization, microservices) and/or embedded applications (network communications, file transfer, event streaming).
- Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews.
- Document designs, configurations, and code to facilitate knowledge transfer.Work closely with team members and partners to ensure delivery timelines and goals are met.
Required Skills and Experience
University Hiring Program Eligibility Requirements
- University Enrollment: Must be currently enrolled in and returning to an accredited degree-seeking academic program in the Fall.
- Internship Work Period: Must be available to work full-time (approximately 40 hours per week) during a 10-12 week period starting May or June. Specific start dates are shared during the recruiting process.
- Currently enrolled as B.S. or M.S. student in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
- Experience with full-stack or backend software engineering in a cloud-based environment.
- Excellent proficiency in programming languages such as Go, Python, or similar.
- Experience with cloud platforms and/or containerization tools.
- Expertise in designing and implementing RESTful APIs a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
