Scrub Tech (Open Heart) - Traveler (4001-4)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Scrub Tech specialized in Open Heart cases to join our team as a traveler. This is a crucial role that demands a highly skilled professional to assist in complex cardiovascular surgeries. If you do not have experience in Open Heart cases, please do not apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the surgical team in Open Heart procedures, ensuring all instruments and equipment are prepared and sterile.
• Operate and troubleshoot surgical instruments and equipment, including the DaVinci Xi system.
• Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room, ensuring compliance with hospital protocols and safety standards.
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other surgical personnel to provide optimal patient care.
• Participate in pre-operative and post-operative patient care, ensuring all patient needs are met.
• Adhere to call requirements, providing coverage for overnight calls 1-2 times per week and every 3rd-4th weekend.
  
  

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of Scrub Tech experience, with specific experience in Open Heart cases.
• Certification: Current and valid Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certificate from the state.
• BLS Certification: Must have a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate.
• Acute Care Experience: Prior experience in an acute care hospital setting is required.
• DaVinci Xi Experience: Previous experience with the DaVinci Xi surgical system is highly preferred.

• Strong understanding of sterile techniques and surgical procedures.
• Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
