Position Overview
A leading poultry processing company is seeking an experienced Senior Plant Engineer to manage technical operations and support continuous improvement at a further processing plant. This role provides day-to-day technical leadership in equipment and system uptime, overall plant efficiency, and safety. Reporting to the Senior Director of Engineering, the Senior Plant Engineer will drive strategies and tactics that enhance operations, safety, energy usage, and maintenance.

This role provides day-to-day technical leadership in equipment and system uptime, overall plant efficiency, and safety. Reporting to the Senior Director of Engineering, the Senior Plant Engineer will drive strategies and tactics that enhance operations, safety, energy usage, and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement plant engineering strategies focused on operations, safety, and maintenance.
- Lead initiatives for maximizing equipment/system uptime through Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Ensure facility structure and infrastructure meet operational needs, including electrical, mechanical, boiler, and refrigeration systems.
- Work closely with state, federal, and corporate agencies to ensure compliance with all codes and policies.
- Support capital planning and budget management with the Senior Director of Engineering.
- Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (Maximo) for maintenance operations and planning.
- Coordinate engineering and maintenance teams to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline is strongly preferred. Candidates without a degree must have an additional five years of relevant experience.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of plant or project engineering experience in the food industry.
- Familiarity with automation processes and maintenance management systems.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD for equipment layout and updating plant drawings.
- Skills: Excellent organizational and leadership skills with a proactive approach to safety and process improvement.
