Job Summary
The Department of Physics at Purdue University Fort Wayne invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Physics position starting Spring 2025 (or Fall 2025 in special circumstance). The requirements are a Ph.D. in Physics or closely related areas (including all-but-defense Ph.D. candidates). Preference will be given to the field of Astronomy, Biophysics, Astrobiology, and Materials Science. This position will consist of teaching 3 courses per semester and research. The candidate will receive mentoring and constructive feedback from seasoned faculty to support professional growth.
The Department
The Physics Department offers a B.S. degree in Physics (with six optional concentrations: Astronomy/AstroPhysics, Biomedical, Computational, Engineering, Materials Science, and Optoelectronics and Photonics). We have approximately 70 undergraduate physics majors. We have a commitment to excellence in undergraduate education with heavy involvement of students in research. First round Phone/Video interview will start in late October.
